On a Christmas Eve, our family spent three days in the Village of Piódão.
We were enchanted by the beauty of the place, the birdsong, the wild fruits, the breathtaking landscapes, the historical richness of the area... and much more.
On the night we arrived, we enjoyed a delicious tea with regional specialties at Café A Gruta.
The trails were not left out of our itinerary. We walked 16 km visiting unforgettable spots such as Foz D’Égua and Chãs D'Égua, savored medronho along the way, and made an obligatory stop at the O Fontinha and Solar dos Pachecos restaurants.
As we left, a part of us stayed there, and it didn't take long for us to feel in our hearts the desire to share the joy and fulfillment of being in this magical village with more people.
This is how Encanto de Xisto was born.
At Encanto de Xisto, you will find all the equipment you need for a comfortable and functional stay.
The Kitchen is equipped with all utensils, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, refrigerator, stove, providing our guests the opportunity to prepare their own meals.
The village has no shops or markets. Bring all the supplies you need for your stay, including medications and personal items. If you prefer, you can do your shopping in Arganil or Oliveira do Hospital, which are 1 hour from the village.
If you have an electric car, you will also be able to charge it in these locations. The village has no chargers.
The region has several routes for walking or cycling. Don't forget your equipment.
You can also opt to dine at the restaurants and cafes in the village.
In the Village, you may find some kittens living around. If you feel like feeding them, you will find some food and a dish in the vacuum cleaner cabinet. This treat should always be given outside the house.
In some microwave settings, it remains "on" for 2 or 3 minutes after use for cooling. Don’t worry.
If you need to change the gas bottle, the key is in the drawer under the microwave.
Batteries for the water heater, in case they need to be replaced, will also be in the drawer.
